It may be understated to say that GARLIC STOMP, presented by Mosaic Home Services, as the highlight event of Sorrentino’s Garlic Fest, presented by Qualico, was a MEMORABLE evening.
On April 25, 2019, over 600 of Edmonton’s business and community leaders gathered at the Edmonton Expo Centre for an evening of Sorrentino’s exceptional hospitality. Festivities included Garlic Fest feature menu items, dancing, prizes, a standing ovation performance by tenor Andrea Pinna, appearance of the Garlic King and Queen (past and present)…and of course, the appeal to support Pilgrims Hospice Society’s Home for Hospice campaign.
In addition to celebrating 40 years in business, Sorrentino’s brought back the Garlic Stomp event after a six year break. The event not only raises money for a charitable cause, it provides a platform to raise invaluable awareness with a room full of community leaders.
And that it did.
“Pilgrims Hospice Society is a small organization, and while our Home for Hospice campaign to build the Roozen Family Hospice Centre is getting attention we need community partners like Sorrentino’s to rally the support to make this project a reality,” says Monica Robson, Executive Director of Pilgrims Hospice Society. ” It is incredible what can happen when you bring the right people together.”
The very personal stories of Home for Hospice advocates were shared in this short video.
MC Danny Hooper lead the appeal with his own personal pledge of $10,000 in memory of his mother who died earlier in the month. It took just 7 minutes for 37 other donors to join him. Now that’s amore!
Sorrentino’s Garlic Fest is an annual initiative of Sorrentino’s Restaurant Group. The month long event includes Big Garlic Night in which 5% of sales from all Sorrentino’s Restaurant Group locations is donated to their charity partner.
